Spree Studios

Leicester School of Architecture

Spree Studios was a proposal for a professional model making studio, located in the Kreuzberg District of Berlin. Through site analysis, I discovered that there was a radial distribution of creative professionals around the site, placing the site at the centre. This presented the opportunity to provide a facility central to their needs. Due to the deprived nature of the district of Kreuzberg, an element of practical skills training was introduced to the project through the integration of the German Apprenticeship scheme. This was done by separating the building into two wings, a teaching side and a professional side, with the close proximity promoting interdisciplinary collaboration
